Melissa Dexter
Melissa has a diverse background in the arts that began at an early age. Melissa's parents initially enrolled her in a traditional ballet, jazz and tap class. She began classical harp and violin training at the age of eight and Egyptian belly dancing at the age of twelve.
Melissa began her ballroom training in her teens and became the youngest teacher in the Arthur Murray Franchised Dance Studio’s history. After several years working at the Arthur Murray Studio in EauClaire, Melissa moved to Milwaukee to teach at one of the top Fred Astaire Studios in the country. Today, Melissa teaches at several of Milwaukee’s independent dance studios. She competes across the country with her students. Melissa has won the “Top Teacher” award at several competitions and her students consistently place in the top percentile.
Melissa is a certified, professional dance instructor trained in American style Smooth/Rhythm and International style Ballroom/Latin. Melissa’s patience, sense of humor and versatility make her capable of teaching both competitive and social students.
