Awakening Yoga
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. with Laura
$10 to drop in; $50 for six weeks, or $100 for a twelve week package.
First Module runs December 5 - January 13

This is a hatha yoga class suitable for novice to intermediate students. The class is designed to awaken the body and prepare the student to meet the challenges of his/her day. We begin with pranayama and restoratives to center the mind and body, and then we move into warming asanas to gently awaken the joints and move blood and energy through the body.
Yoga Beginner/Advanced Beginner

Yoga: Advanced Beginner I & II
Tuesdays 6:00 p.m. with Shawn
Next session runs January 3- February 14
$70 for the seven week session. Drop-ins $12 with consent of instructor. 75 minutes.
This class is intended for the student who has a good understanding of alignment and balance in asana. We work to take the asanas to a deeper level with, for example, longer holds and more refined movements. Our practice will include strong standing poses, backbends, twists, forward folds, and the fundamentals of inversions (sarvangasana, sirsasana), as well as powerful breathing techniques and meditation. Please bring three large blankets (Mexican-style or equivalent) to class with you.
Yoga: Beginner I & II / Therapeutic
Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. with Shawn
Next session runs January 4 – February 15
$70 for the seven week session. Drop-ins $12 with consent of instructor. 75 minutes.
This class is intended for the student who is ready to start working an alignment-based practice. Students are given an understanding of the principles of alignment and balance, with beginning work on standing asana (vrksasana, virabhadrasana II, trikonasana), backbends, twists, arm and core strengthening, and fundamentals of inversions. Class will be appropriate for students with therapeutic needs. Class structure and protocol depend on constitution and physical conditioning of students in class. Please bring three large blankets (Mexican-style or equivalent) to class with you.
Mixed Level Yoga: Beginner - Advanced Beginner I & II

Come join this new mixed-level alignment-based class! Class is appropriate for the beginning student to the advanced beginner. Class structure and protocol will depend on the constitution and conditioning of the class. We will work to wake up the body, practicing morning sequences not appropriate for evening practice. Our practice will include Surya Namaskara, standing poses, and other energizing postures to help start your weekend off right. We will also delve into the practice of inverting, backbending, forwardbending, and twisting. Please bring three large blankets (Mexican-style or equivalent) to class with you.

Pre-registration is required to attend class. Current students are given precedence for signing up, then any available spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact the respective instructor, Shawn Selk or Laura Englebrecht to inquire about available space, and, if applicable, to have your name placed on a waiting list for the next session. We have mats, blocks and straps available for your use during class (or feel free to bring your own).
